Happy Mother's Day (Year 8!)

May 9, 2020

Dear Lior,

It's mother's day tomorrow! And it's going to be our eighth year of celebration :-)

I know I always tell you how much I love you. You're probably sick of it by now.

So, let's change things up a bit.

For my eighth mother's day, I would like to tell you how much an honor it is for me to be your mom.

You're seven now.

We're all stuck in quarantine and you're swelling like a little fattootie. Hefty snacks and nutritious milk are taking turns with you. I got you a nice vitamins that really boosted your appetite. That's why the white sando you're wearing now fits you a little too tightly.

I like it.

You have way more fat in your cheeks now and you constantly look for something to eat. I'm not sure if you remember how much in love you are with junk stuff like VCut or Kinder Eggs. It's not healthy, I know, but I make sure to let you indulge once in a while.

There's more of you to love now!:--)

Just now, a day before mother's day -

We just finished a game of play-pretend where I am the villain, and few funny pretend stories later, you asked me if it's okay if you play alone - obviously taking into consideration how I might feel.

You're always like that, Cheng.

You always think of how others are feeling, and sometimes to a fault (but we'll get on to that much later on) It's amazing how empathetic you are. You care for other people. You think about them. When asked, you want to be a carpenter so you can build houses for the homeless people. That has been your dream since you were 5. FIVE. So little, yet so wonderfully generous already.

I hope you never outgrow that.

That's why it's forever my honor to be your mom. Thank you, Cheng. We might have met a little too early but looking at it now, it's the best thing that has ever happened to me.

I love you always.

Always, always, always.

Mama
