Superheroes don't always wear capes or unitards. Sometimes they're at home making sure their children are well taken care of. Sometimes they're the ones who resign from work because they can't function knowing that it isn't them who's looking after the kids. Sometimes they're the ones who give up the last pie just so everyone can eat. I've always believed mothers are underrated and is there anything more terrible than that? We give so much glory to fathers yet we forget the women who has willingly carried us in their tummy for nine excruciating months only for them to hear that you'd rather not have them as a mother? That it isn't enough?

Mothers not only deserve a day of celebration. We deserve feasts and banquets and parties every single day because at the end of the day, we have the toughest job in the world. Maybe it does not pay as much as a CEO or a god damned celebrity but the fact that we are your home base when things are scary is far more worth it.

I don't think I'm ever going to meet anyone as mataray as Nanay and yet despite her being so, she is one of the most caring person ever. Between her grumpy, sarcastic replies I know that she loves us more than we could ever imagine. However, I reckon you are who she loves best. You have taken my spot from me, my love. If you saw the twinkle in her eyes whenever she sees you or when she carries you, it is one of the best things to witness. I remembered when I was just ten, Tita Kym and I would sleepover at Las Pinas for a week. She would always ask us what we want for lunch and dinner just so she could prepare it beforehand. She makes sure you have enough blankets and clean towels. I love her so much buling. I cannot imagine life without her because she has always been my lighthouse. I know they're old but I tremble with the idea that they won't grow old enough to see you become the man I know they'll be proud of.
Super Mom number two is mommy.
Did you know that she had to stop work to take care of Tita Kym and I? I could not tell you how much of huge sacrifice that is; literally just giving and spending your life taking care of your children. It is a wonderful thing to have a mom like that. She is my wall. She's my support system. Things might have changed since she and dad went separate ways but they were never any less of a parent. I've always reiterated how she and dad may not be the best pair but they are great parents. To have parents who are still standing at your back regardless of how much disappointment you gave them is the epitome of being blessed. I wish people would give more credit to responsible parents.
Mommy is the second person who knew about you. She said she have loved you even when she haven't met you yet and I hope you know how much true that is. You are extremely spoiled by mommy. She gives you literally anything you want even if I do not allow it. I know that in years time we will probably have an argument about it but I am just happy that she loves you more than I thought she would. She always thanks me in the most random times for having you. I think you gave her your light. Which is why your name is all the more appropriate for who you really are: our light.
My third super mom who isn't even mom but I don't care because you really couldn't tell is Tita Ton.
Words will never be enough to describe how wonderful in all sorts of way Tita Ton is. It is far beyond her generosity that makes her the best person I know but I think if I will try to let you understand, it's her being her. I've loved Tita Ton like a mother for the longest time. Whenever she leaves, I shamelessly cry, hoping it will keep her from leaving. Then things got lonelier when she and Tita Bing had to leave for the States to find better pasture but the love we have for her intensified even more because love knows no distance. I send her your photos and videos and it absolutely makes her day. She evens sends it to her friends. Imagine how proud she is of you. What made her a mother for me is the love and care and support she gives without asking for anything in return. I try to reciprocate everything through the simple things I know she would like. I wish that by the time you can read this, tita Ton is just a cab away from us so you can always shower her your radiant warmth. She is never just an aunt to me. She is my mother too.
You are so lucky to have Tita Ton and your own version of Tita Ton: Tita Kymkym! They're going to spoil you with all things wonderful! Not to rub it on anyone's face but you are absolutely one of the most lucky baby in the world; being surrounded with people who will never fail you.
Son, the only person who will love you best and unconditional is your mother. And that is me. I will always always love you more than anyone will ever love you. Not even your future girlfriend or your future wife. Not even papa. I have loved you from the moment I knew I was carrying you. People will try to compete but when everything is said and done, your mother is the person who will always there. Good days and bad days alike. Although I am pretty sure I am going to love you more through your bad days. That's just how mothers are.
