Dear Lior,
I'll tell you the only talent I have:
.....

..
.
Reading.
I think I started reading at the age of eight. I had a classmate who used to have the complete book series of 'From The Files of Madison Finn'. I always borrowed books from her; asking her if she was done with hers, then hoping I can bring it home to read. I could not remember exactly how the story goes but I do remember getting excited for recess because it means I could read more.
Although books were probably all that I could ever want for at that age, I don't recall asking my parents to buy me one? I don't know. Maybe I knew then that there were better things bought than books. I got by.
We had a school library and when I couldn't get my Madison Finn fix, I'd go to the library to borrow Nancy Drew. Those hardbound books, yellow-covered books were worth the extra load in my bag. I remember smelling the old pages and looking how many people borrowed it already. There were days I kept them longer than was required that I have to pay penalty to the library. It was worth it.
I've always always loved reading. It has been an escape for me since I was little.
Even now, I find constantly myself in bookstores when in the mall in comparison to anywhere else. I love surrounding myself with books. Their silence soothes me. One day, I'm going to have a library inside our house with all the books you and I could never read.
My dad has a rule that all books, regardless of its need, is an auto-buy. This goes the same for us. I will buy you all the books you want, Cheng. Just let me know. I hope you never feel like anything you ask for is too much.
I love you more than all the words combined.
Mama
